While standing in line at the post office, a man said, “We’ll never get over this mess”. There is profound pessimism among our fellow residents of Glen Allen. At the same time, we see pockets of hope and encouragement in comments on the Internet and other media. It’s time for us who are positive about the future to find ways to express it. One church is doing it with an encouragement quilt with positive sayings. We may do that in the future but for now, let’s express to your community our hope as well as give them a voice to express their optimism for the future.
Beginning Thursday May 7, there will be a Wall of Hope on the front lawn of our church and be available through Mother’s Day, May 10. You can come by and write a message and our overall theme is “As For Me, I Choose Hope and Joy”. For sanitary reasons, please bring your own marker. Please invite your friends, neighbors, family and business contacts to participate. We hope to have at least 500 messages of hope, appreciation for our medical community, first responders and essential personnel will be written. If we fill the wall with messages, we’ll add to it.
