children at gabc
Glen Allen Baptist Church makes children a priority.
On Sunday morning, we have graduated levels of Sunday School. Our children participate in worship with the full congregation, then leave after the Children’s Sermon for an extended lesson in Children’s Church.
On Wednesday nights, children participate in music activities, Bible Study and fellowship. Wednesday night activities vary with the season.
In addition to these regularly scheduled meetings, we offer seasonal activities such as Vacation Bible School.
Children’s check in form
We encourage you to complete the children’s check in form here to ease the transition for you and your child(ren) as you arrive for worship. This will allow our children’s workers to have parent/guardian contact information as well as any special needs that would help us minister to your child(ren) better.
children’s Church
Each Sunday during the worship service, we dedicate a special time for the children from preschool to second grade. The children’s sermon is a special time for a developmentally appropriate message designed to help the children understand God’s presence in our lives, Jesus’s love for us, and the word of the Bible. After this short session, the children are led by adult and youth volunteers to learn about the word of God in the Sunday School classrooms. Parents and guardians can pick up their children from this area after the worship service.
Children are welcome to remain in the main worship service or attend children’s church.
Wednesday Evening Programming
During the school year, we share a meal together on Wednesday evenings at 5:45pm. Following supper, we have family-friendly fellowship and missions opportunities connected to our dinners or children can participate in children’s activities such as music, Bible Study and fellowship time.
