Rev. Dr. Melissa Fallen
Melissa Fallen lives in Chesterfield, VA and has family in the local area. She has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Mary Washington, a Master of Divinity from Baptist Theological Seminary in Richmond and a Doctorate in Ministry from Baptist Theological Seminary in Richmond. She served as part of the pastoral team at Huguenot Road Baptist Church from 2005-2014. And she spent the last four years as the Director of Admissions for Baptist Theological Seminary Richmond. She is a volunteer chaplain for the Chesterfield County Police Department. She is a certified crisis care Chaplain and has additional training in clinical pastoral education. She has written and presented in numerous areas and continues to write Sunday School and devotional materials for Smyth and Helwys, which we use from time to time in our Sunday School program right here at Glen Allen Baptist Church.
Sharon has served as the choir director since the Fall of 2010. She is a longtime member of Glen Allen Baptist church having served as a Sunday School teacher, committee member of several committees, and the organist for 5 years.
Sharon grew up in Florida and was a member of Sarasota Brethren Church where she was baptized at age 13. Sharon graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Miami and a Masters of Divinity with a concentration in Church Music from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond.
Sharon is currently employed by DXC in addition to Glen Allen Baptist Church. She is married to Glenn and has four children: Matthew, Timothy, Abigail, and Lillian.
Rev. Dr. William J. Crowder, Jr. (“B.J.”)
Associate Pastor for Youth & Family Ministry
Rev. Dr. William J. Crowder, Jr. “B.J.” currently serves as the Associate Pastor for Youth & Family Ministry at Glen Allen Baptist Church. B.J. and his wife Julia came to Glen Allen Baptist in May, 2014 when B.J. began serving the congregation as the Youth Pastor; a position that evolved into his current position in 2017. During a time of transition for the church, B.J. also served as the Interim Pastor at Glen Allen from August, 2017 – February, 2019.
B.J. is also a Principal in Henrico County Public Schools at the Advanced Career Education Center at Highland Springs. B.J. earned a Doctor of Education degree from Liberty University along with an Educational Specialist degree from The George Washington University. B.J.’s undergraduate work was done at Virginia Commonwealth University. He was ordained into the Christian Ministry in 2010.
B.J. and his wife Julia have three children: William III, Joseph, and Henry.
Glenn has been a member of Glen Allen Baptist Church for many years, and began working as our financial secretary in 2014. He is a very involved member of our congregation, having served as a Sunday School teacher, an usher, a member of multiple committees including the nominating committee, the real estate committee, chair of the Pre-Kindergarten committee, and a deacon. Along with his wife Sharon, he is employed by DXC.
Jan has served as our primary organist/pianist at Glen Allen since 2004, and is an active member of our congregation. In addition to being a member at Glen Allen Baptist, Jan is a member of the VA Baptist Women’s Chorale.
Cheryl Ender and her family have been a part of our community at Glen Allen Baptist Church for her entire life, and has served as our cook since 2013. She is also our church treasurer.
Debbie Gordon has been an integral part of our children’s programming for a long time, serving as a Pre-K teacher before she became the program’s director around 2009.
Maria has been on our staff since April 2019, and she handles the work in our church office and helps keep our church running smoothly.
Linda has been our custodian for a number of years. We’re so grateful for all the work she does keeping our worship space pristine!
