Rev. Dr. Melissa Fallen

Melissa Fallen has served as our senior pastor since February 2019. She is a native of the Richmond area and has family locally. She has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Mary Washington, a Master of Divinity and a Doctor in Ministry from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond. Prior to coming to GABC, she served on the pastoral team at Huguenot Road Baptist Church for ten years, and she spent four years as the Director of Admissions for Baptist Theological Seminary Richmond. She has written and presented in numerous areas, including writing Sunday School and devotional materials for Smyth and Helwys. She is active in the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Virginia and has a strong passion for theological education. She is the author of Lost & Found: From Losing Your Pulpit to Find Your Passion (Smyth & Helwys, 2020) and co-editor of Towel and Basin Memoir: Personal Reflections on Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond (2019). Melissa is also the JV girls’ basketball coach at Deep Run High School.

rev. ann carter - Associate Pastor for Youth and Music

Ann Carter joined the staff in January 2023 and was ordained at GABC in June of 2024. Ann came to us from Richmond’s First Baptist Church where she served in a variety youth ministry capacities for 20 years, most recently as the Minister to Students. Before joining the staff at First Baptist, Ann had a 10-year career in state and local politics. She was born and raised in Richmond where she graduated from Godwin High School and the University of Richmond. Immediately following college graduation, Ann spent two years in Kyoto, Japan teaching English instilling in her a sense of wanderlust that just won’t go away. She received her Master of Divinity from Union Presbyterian Seminary. Ann is married to David and is mom to young adults Ellie, Claire, and Mary Wise. Ann loves reading several books at a time, singing in several choirs at a time, spending time with the family either at home on the back deck or on an adventurous road trip, and every morning finds her with a large mug of coffee to fuel whatever is next on her calendar.

rev. darie lee - Associate Pastor for Children

Darie (rhymes with ‘Marie’) joined the GABC staff in January 2023. She was born and raised in Hopkinsville, KY. She is currently the Director of the River Road Early Learning Center. She received a BA in Psychology and Sociology from Georgetown College in Georgetown, KY and a Master of Divinity in Christian Education from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. She has served as Children’s Minister in churches in Kentucky, South Carolina and Virginia. She was ordained by First Baptist Church of Mauldin, SC. She and her husband, Rusty, have 3 children – Abby, Zach and Jonathan.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading, photography and crafting.

Jan has served as our primary organist/pianist at Glen Allen since 2004, and is an active member of our congregation. In addition to being a member at Glen Allen Baptist, Jan is a member of the VA Baptist Women’s Chorale.

Debbie Gordon has been an integral part of our children’s programming for a long time, serving as a Pre-K teacher before she became the program’s director around 2009.

Cheryl Ender and her family have been a part of our community at Glen Allen Baptist Church for her entire life, and has served as our cook since 2013.

Debbie joined our team in 2020 and is an active member of Cool Spring Baptist.
