She leaves behind to cherish her memory, Oswald “Big Boy” Gasser, her loving husband of 62 years; daughters, Patricia “Trisha” Newton (Raymond “Puddin”) and Nancy Edens Wiseman (Roger). She was a beloved grandmother to five precious grandchildren, Kimberly Edens Stepno, David McDaniel Edens, Ginger Newton Long, Gwen Newton Carlson (Ian) and Kristin Newton Farsi (Patrick); and eight beautiful great-grandchildren, Emma, Reagan, Lily, Duncan, Alden, Matthew, Addison and Evan. She was proud of her family and loved them dearly. For 35 years, Nancy enjoyed her job at Virginia Farm Bureau. Throughout her life, she was a positive influence for the children of Glen Allen Baptist Church, as she served for 45 years in the children’s department. Nancy volunteered with her husband at the Virginia Power Retiree Group. She pursued her hobbies of gardening, sewing, knitting and needlework, leaving many family heirlooms to treasure. She was an excellent cook- a family legend.
For the final three years of her life, Nancy received loving care from exceptional caregivers, Sylvia, Sonya and Shalanda, including a very special, Yvonne Ruttley, who loved her “Baby Nancy.”
We hold onto Jesus until we see her beautiful smile and eat at her table together in Heaven. She will be forever in our hearts, remembering how she smiled each time she received a kiss from her loving husband. God gained a beautiful angel that will continue to watch over her family from Heaven.
