Church Choir

The sanctuary choir is the core of the music program at Glen Allen Baptist. The choir meets on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 – 9:00 PM throughout the year.  The choir leads in worship on Sunday mornings and usually presents an anthem in the service. In addition, the choir presents a full music program at Christmas and Easter time. The choir is open to men and women from high school age and up. No audition is necessary. Members do not need to be proficient in reading music; all that is required is a joy in singing and enthusiasm for the choir’s ministry.

We also have the the following music groups.  We would love for you to join us!

There are several opportunities throughout the year for a soloist or a small group of singers to present a song in the worship service in place of the choir anthem.  Anyone who wishes to present a special piece should talk with the choir director for available Sundays in the schedule.

Glen Allen Baptist has one bell choir with 11 members playing 3 octaves of bells.  The bell choir meets on Sundays after the morning worship service all weeks except the weeks in which the youth and their directors are committed to the TOP program.  The bell choir year corresponds to the school year with no rehearsals during the summer.  The bell choir presents one or two pieces in the Sunday morning worship service a few times each year.  It is open to everyone interested.  Proficiency in reading music is helpful, but not required.  A commitment to the practice schedule is especially important since each member plays a key role in the music.

While there are no regularly scheduled instrumental ensembles, instrumentalists are encouraged to present a piece during the Sunday morning worship.  The prelude and offertory are a part of every worship service and an instrumental solo or ensemble could be arranged.  Anyone who wishes to be placed in the schedule should talk with the choir director.

Anyone who wishes to be a part of any of the music ministry opportunities should contact the choir director at, or call the church office for information.
