Melissa Fallen lives in Chesterfield, VA and has family in the local area. She has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Mary Washington, a Master of Divinity from Baptist Theological Seminary in Richmond and a Doctorate in Ministry from Baptist Theological Seminary in Richmond. She served as part of the pastoral team at Huguenot Road Baptist Church from 2005-2014. And she spent the last four years as the Director of Admissions for Baptist Theological Seminary Richmond. She is a volunteer chaplain for the Chesterfield County Police Department. She is a certified crisis care Chaplain and has additional training in clinical pastoral education. She has written and presented in numerous areas and continues to write Sunday School and devotional materials for Smyth and Helwys, which we use from time to time in our Sunday School program right here at Glen Allen Baptist Church.
Rev. Dr. William J. Crowder, Jr. “B.J.” currently serves as the Associate Pastor for Youth & Family Ministry at Glen Allen Baptist Church. B.J. and his wife Julia came to Glen Allen Baptist in May, 2014 when B.J. began serving the congregation as the Youth Pastor; a position that evolved into his current position in 2017. During a time of transition for the church, B.J. also served as the Interim Pastor at Glen Allen from August, 2017 – February, 2019. Prior to his arrival at Glen Allen Baptist, B.J. served as pulpit supply within the Dover Baptist Association and was the Interim Pastor/Pulpit Supply at Rappahannock Indian Baptist Church. In addition, B.J. worked in Youth Ministry at Fort Lee Baptist Church and New Bridge Baptist Church. B.J. holds a Master of Ministry and a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Pastoral Counseling. He was ordained into the Christian Ministry in 2010.
B.J. is also a Principal in Henrico County Public Schools at the Advanced Career Education Center at Highland Springs. Previously he was an Associate Principal and Assistant Principal at Fairfield Middle School; after serving six years as a classroom teacher and athletic coach (football, baseball, and golf) at Highland Springs High School. B.J. serves as an Adjunct Professor at Averett University as part of their Master of Education program. B.J. earned a Doctor of Education degree from Liberty University along with an Educational Specialist degree from The George Washington University. B.J.’s undergraduate work was done at Virginia Commonwealth University.
B.J. and his wife Julia have two children, William III and Joseph with one more on the way in July, 2019. B.J. and Julia enjoy spending time with their family and their church family. They are both avid sports fans and enjoy rooting on their favorite baseball and football teams. They are thankful to be a part of the Glen Allen family and have truly grown to love this church and the congregation.
Sharon has served as the choir director since the Fall of 2010. She is a 20-year member of Glen Allen Baptist church having served as a Sunday School teacher, committee member of several committees, and the organist for 5 years.
Sharon grew up in Florida and was a member of Sarasota Brethren Church where she was baptized at age 13. Sharon graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Miami and a Masters of Divinity with a concentration in Church Music from Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond.
Sharon is currently employed by HP in addition to Glen Allen Baptist Church. She has been married to Glenn for 28 years and has four children: Matthew, 25, Timothy, 22, Abigail, 19 and Lillian, 11.
